CHARITY NON PROFIT NEWS: We continue to work with Charity Not-For-Profits including the new MOUNTAIN FUND and Mount Everest Foundation for Sustainable Development of Tibet and Nepal to benefit low income families who live around Mount Everest in Nepal and Tibet, to build schools, hospitals, and do environmental projects. Thanks to the efforts of many kind people who came to slideshows around the world and donated, we were lucky to be able to start a Sherpa women's trekking and climbing training workshop and continued to build health posts near Everest, now maintaining health care for 4000 people living in poor villages where tourists never go. The new health clinic we installed saw more than 1000 people this year. We plan to continue adding more programs for education and environmental preservation, and are seeking people who want to be teachers now. We have also supported and carried on training for Tibetan climbers and cooks. Some of our Tibetan students have gone from a life of poverty and hunger and have now summitted Everest several times, and are becoming top expedition cooks and workers, supporting their families back on the farm in Tibet. Thanks for becoming involved with charitable giving, donation, philanthropy and contribution to the Himalaya and non profit volunteer service work with support to mountain people and environment. We present exciting slide-video lectures on charity-non-profit benefit mountain climbing, trekking and cultures around the world to raise money for schools, hospitals, and environmental projects. Please click on this link to learn more: Charity Not-For-Profits. We welcome you to attend one of our shows. Do you know of any possible venues? Please click on the "Lecture" button. We wish you safe and successful climbing. Thank you very much for telling all of your friends about what we are doing. Yours Sincerely, from all of us at SummitClimb.com.
CLIMBING NEWS: Our expeditions as well as trek teams are currently in the field. Please check the NEWS.. Now is the time to finalize your membership for our upcoming climbs and treks.
TREKKING NEWS: Now is the time to join our Everest basecamp treks and the service trek, as well as Island Peak, an exciting trekking peak. Please get in touch for further information and to book a lace on one of our treks. Thank you.
LEADER-IN-TRAINING NEWS: In an effort to give something back to the sport of Himalaya climbing, our Leader-in-Training Programme has become popular. All of our current expedition leaders began their career in our leader-in-training programme. Please visit our leadership site to see what trips they lead for us and how they got their start: Leader Site. We have been training all of our climbing Sherpas at the Manang school, and our cooks have been taking classes at 5-star hotels in Kathmandu. In Tibet, with the generous help of Phil Crampton and his wife Trish, our climbing staff and cooks are graduates of the Tibet Mountain School. We believe our staff are among the best trained around.
GLACIER-SCHOOL NEWS: To introduce new members to our leaders, we held 5 Glacier Schools, teaching ice-snow climbing, crevasse self-rescue, roped glacier travel, summiting, and safe descent skills to more than 100 people. We encourage to you to book early, as our last glacier school was fully booked.
